# Cookie Policy

**Last updated:** 27th October 2025

### 1. About this policy

This website uses cookies to understand how visitors use the site and to make improvements.
We only use **Google Analytics 4 (GA4)** for anonymous, aggregated usage statistics.
We do **not** use any marketing or advertising cookies.

### 2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website.
They help a site function properly and provide basic usage information to the website owner.

### 3. How we use cookies

We use cookies **only for analytics purposes**, to:

Measure which pages are visited most often

Understand how visitors find and move through the site

Identify technical issues and improve performance

All data collected is aggregated and anonymous.
We do **not** collect or store personal information such as names, email addresses, or IP addresses that could identify you.

**4. Google Analytics 4 (GA4)**

GA4 helps us analyse overall traffic patterns without identifying individual visitors.
To protect your privacy:

IP anonymisation is enabled (Google truncates your IP address before storage)

Advertising features and data sharing are disabled

Data retention is limited to the minimum necessary (e.g. 14 months)

Google may process the data on servers outside the UK or EU.
For more information, visit Google’s Privacy Policy <https://policies.google.com/privacy> and Google's safeguarding page <https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245>

Typical cookies used by GA4 include:

Cookie Purpose Expiry
\_ga Distinguishes unique visitors - 2 years
\_ga\_<container-id> Persists session state for GA4 property - 2 years

**5. Managing or disabling cookies**

You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings:

Chrome: <https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647>
Firefox: <https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox>
Safari: <https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/safari/sfri11471/mac>

Disabling cookies will not affect your ability to browse most of this site.

**6. Consent**

Because this site only uses essential and anonymised analytics cookies, explicit cookie consent banners are not required under UK GDPR and PECR regulations.
However, you can still choose to disable all cookies if you prefer.
